Whats the difference between hazards, disasters, and catastrophes?



Disasters:A hazardous event that occurs over a limited time span within a defined area. 

Hazards: A natural process and event that is a potential threat to human life and property. 

Catastrophes: A event or situation causing sufficient damage to people, property, or society that recovery or rehabilitation is long and complex; natural processes most likely to produce a catastrophe include floods, hurricanes, tornadoes, tsunamis, volcanoes, and large fires.

The Kingdom of Cambodia's exposure to Natural hazards is very high due to its geographical location. Cambodia is subjected to many hazards but, most commonly droughts, floods, and typhoons. Events such as these are devastating to Cambodia due to the amount of resources available.
